Father Chris Alar, MIC, of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, will be giving a parish mission at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Darien, Sept. 9 – 12, 2019, on the topic of “Divine Mercy: A Source of Hope and Healing in a Broken World.” On Sept. 10, World Suicide Prevention Day, he will address the difficult issue of suicide, the subject of his new book, After Suicide: There’s Hope for Them and for You. The talks will begin at 7 p.m.
Drawing from the teaching of the Church, the message of Divine Mercy, and his own experience of losing a loved one, he offers two key forms of hope: hope for the salvation of those who’ve died by their own hand and hope for the healing of those left behind.
