The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will be in the Diocese of Joliet until May 5

The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which tours around the world, will be at the Joliet Illinois Division from April 1 to May 5. There’s no visitation during the Holy Week.

The statue was blessed by Pope Pius XII in 1947 and is called the weeping Madonna for she cried during the tour. It will visit 28 churches in the diocese. The coming of the IPV  is sponsored by the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF), Joliet Illinois Division. The WAF World Apostolate of Fatims was formerly the Blue Army but was changed to World Apostolate of Fatima by Pope John Paul II and is an international organization in 130 countries with 20-million members praying the rosary.

For further information, please call Rebecca Barrido, WAF president, Joliet Illinois Division, at 815-793-9140 or email her at rebecca barrido1@gmail.com.

The guidelines will be sent to the priests or coordinators of those churches who are willing to welcome the image. The caretaker will give more details of the visit, if needed. Please send any inquiry to him: Patrick Sabat, at psabat@bluearmy.com or at 219-218-8991.
