St. Mary’s Parish, in West Chicago, will be sponsoring a Lenten Mission on March 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. and on March 8 from 6:30-9 p.m. Christ said that if anyone wanted to follow Him, they would have to die. “Take up your cross, and follow me.” What if He meant it?
Join St. Mary’s Parish this Lent as they examine Christ’s own words to learn what it looks like when we die to ourselves. What impact does it have on our daily lives?
What do we leave behind? What do we lose, and what do we gain?
Session 1: Thursday, March 7, 7:00-8:30 p.m.: What does it mean to take up your cross? (Matthew 16) What has to die when we die to sin? (Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-7)
Session 2: Friday, March 8, 6:30-9:00 p.m.: Stations of the Cross (begins at 6:30 p.m.) Break for soup supper. What has to die when we die to the good things of the world for the sake of Heaven? (Presentation begins at 8 p.m.)
This mission is in English and Spanish. For more information, contact Dan Wartsbaugh at dan.wartsbaugh@stmarywc.org
