Service is an important part of ministry at Bishop McNamara Catholic School. That was most evident over the 2018 Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. The high school House System collected entire Thanksgiving meal baskets for more than 300 families in the community. During Advent, students at every level participated in a service project, from making blankets and putting together care packages to donating to an animal shelter. The students raised more than $2,000 for Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in developing countries.
Next week over Catholic Schools Week, the school will continue to provide service for others. It is collecting money for the Make a Wish Foundation, creating Valentine’s for veterans, and the students are making a special effort to show appreciation for their teachers who are always so supportive of them.
