St. Walter’s Parish in Roselle has initiated a weekly Mass for the Sick and for their caregivers at 8:30 a.m. every Saturday. Parishioners pray through the intercession of St. Peregrine, patron saint of cancer patients.
On the second Saturday in September, the parish hosted a Morning of Reflection presented by Father Chris Krymski, director of the National Shrine of St. Peregrine at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago. He presented the background of St. Peregrine’s life and miracles associated with his intercession. This was the “kick-off” for the new devotion. 
The parish has acquired from Rome a first-class relic of St. Peregrine which is housed in a beautiful reliquary. It will be exposed for veneration at St. Walter’s Parish every Saturday during the 8:30 a.m. Mass for the sick. Every second Saturday of every month, there will be a monthly anointing of the sick. The next anointing of the sick will take place on Dec. 9.
Also, Father Quejadas plans to install in the church an original icon of St. Peregrine, which he has already commissioned.
