Cathedral to Present Centennial Organ Recital on Sept. 10

The Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus announced today the first installment in its 2017-2018 Cathedral Music Series.  On Sept. 10, at 3 p.m., cathedral organists — James Grzadzinski (director of music) and Richard Siegel (associate organist) — will present an organ recital that commemorates the dedication of the cathedral’s wicks pipe organ on  Sept. 18, 1955, in celebration of the Centennial (1917-2017) of Saint Raymond Parish.  The program includes organ music by Gabrieli, J.S. Bach, Franck, Vierne, Widor, Gigout, Mulet, Reger, Benoit, Wood, and Grzadzinski, and includes selections performed by Dr. Mario Salvador during the dedication recital in 1955.

Ample free parking is available in the cathedral parking lots.  A free-will offering benefits the Cathedral Music Program.  With questions, please contact the Music Office at 815.722.6653, ext. 222, or music@straymond.net.  For more information on the Cathedral Music Program, please visit the Music tab at www.straymond.net.
