St. Mary Immaculate School had a booth at the recent Tech & Learning Live Conference in Rosemont. Assistant Principal, Jennifer Errthum, and technology coach, Jackie Fiske, attended the event on behalf of the school.
Tech & Learning magazine is a monthly publication that is directed at schools to share ideas related to all things edtech — what works, what doesn’t and how to get stuff done. The conference sessions discussed how the learning fits meaningfully into technology initiatives.
Mrs. Errthum and Mrs. Fiske were part of the interactive “playground” portion of the conference. All of the attendees were able to view and learn how St. Mary Immaculate School integrates technology into their curriculum and see some of the technology tools St. Mary Immaculate uses on a daily basis.
On display were some student created projects from 4th grade using the 3D printer to culminate a cross-curricular project. There was an interactive display available for the attendees to see a smaller version of what is in the school and to experience what the students do on a daily basis. Also on display was the school’s new STEM curriculum to be used in their state-of-the-art STEM lab. It is the national model for Cyber Education partially developed by the Department of Homeland Security.
