The Serra Club of DuPage, an organization supporting vocations to the priesthood and religious life, is sponsoring a talk on July 17 at St Michael’s Parish in Wheaton. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with rosary and Mass. Dinner will follow in the Parish Center.
Sister Stephanie Baliga will be the guest speaker at the dinner. She is a member of the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago, a new religious community founded to work with poor, evangelize, and begin and maintain sites of perpetual Eucharistic adoration. She holds a master of arts in Pastoral Studies from the University of St. Mary of the Lake and a master’s in education from Dominican University. At the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she earned an undergraduate degree in economics and geography, Sister Stephanie ran varsity cross country and track. Right now, she acts as business manager/administrative sister and maintenance sister for Our Lady of Angels in Chicago while teaching religion part-time at St Sylvester School.
