The Serra Club of DuPage, an organization that supports vocations to the priesthood and religious life, will beholding a get-together on Nov. 21 at St Michael Parish in Wheaton. The evening will begin at 6:15 p.m. with rosary and Mass in the church. Dinner will follow in the parish center. Fr. Shaun Cieslik will be the celebrant of the Mass and as guest speaker at the dinner, and he will also share his vocation story.
After completing a four-year degree in automotive technology, Father Cieslik worked in that field for eight years, but after much time spent in prayer and volunteering in a variety of ways in his parish, Father Cieslik gradually discovered and responded to the possibility that God was calling him to become a priest. He entered the college seminary in 2008 and never looked back. Last spring, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Joliet and is now parochial vicar at St. Mary of Gostyn Church in Downers Grove.
