Saint Mary Nativity and Holy Cross Parishes, in Joliet, are committed to faithful citizenship. For this reason, the two parishes will have an all day prayer vigil at Saint Mary Nativity Parish on Election Day, Nov. 8. Starting at 6 a.m. and ending at 9 p.m., after having prayerfully and thoughtfully prepared their consciences to vote, different people will be praying for the best outcome from our elections and our country after the election. After a prayer service to start the day, pray-ers will say the patriotic rosary, the chaplet of divine mercy, and the litany of Mary throughout the day. The day will conclude with the hymn “Holy God We Praise They Name.” Our motto for the day is “Catholics Care, Catholics Vote, Catholics Pray.”
All are invited to join us in prayer for our country and its elected officials.
