St. Mary Nativity/Holy Cross Parishes to Celebrate Parish Feast Days with Week-Long Festivities in September

Remember your deceased loved ones during St. Mary Nativity and Holy Cross Parish feast days. This beautiful week- long event commences on the Blessed Virgin Mary’s birthday and concludes on the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Take part during this week, which will include novenas, Masses, activities for children, a Eucharistic procession and a luncheon.  For more information, call Joyce Traina at (815) 726-9138.

In a unification of both parishes, the parishes are having a special celebration on Sunday, Sept. 11. This will begin after both parishes’ 10:30 a.m. Masses, at approximately 11:30 a.m., with a Eucharistic Procession from Holy Cross Church to St. Mary Nativity Church grounds and then processing back to Holy Cross for Benediction.  The Holy Cross Polish Highlanders and St. Mary Nativity Knights of Columbus will be processing with the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance carried by the parish priests under a canopy and flanked by altar servers.  Catholic Boy Scouts will join in the Eucharistic Procession carrying the American flag. Parishioners will follow carrying religious items singing songs, reciting litanies and prayers.
