St. Andrew School Student Wins Silver Award at State Science Exposition

Katie Nguyen represented St. Andrew School at the State Science Exposition, which took place at Millikin University in Decatur during May 13-14. Katie coolly delivered her research paper entitled “Hard Water Is Not Ice” and won a Silver Award among some 1,500 participants across Illinois. In addition to her individual award, Katie also brought home a special award for St. Andrew School. The school award states: “The Illinois Junior Academy of Science awards the Dr. Lyell J. Thomas Memorial Award to St. Andrew The Apostle – Romeoville for supporting outstanding student research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at the IJAS State Exposition.”
