Mary Ann Batterman of Peotone has been named the 2016 Woman of the Year by the St. Paul the Apostle Council of Catholic Women in Peotone. She has been a member of St. Paul the Apostle for 20 years. Mary Ann has taught CCD, been a member of the Funeral Committee, is a rosary leader, an annual Shrove Tuesday beef dinner volunteer and the coordinator of the Peotone Senior Assistance Center. Married to Herb, they have three children and seven grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, golf, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary Ann and Maura Culver, St. Paul the Apostle CCW parish president, along with their counterparts from throughout the deaneries of the diocese, were honored at a Mass celebrated by Bishop Joseph Siegel with concelebrants that included the pastor of St. Paul, Rev. Roger Kutzner, at the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet on April 16. The theme of the Mass and luncheon that followed was “Holy Mary, Mother of Mercy.”
