On February 2, 2016, the students at the Cathedral of St. Raymond School welcomed a special guest speaker, Adam Kimble. Adam is preparing to set out to break a Guinness World Record by running across the United States in under 46 days. He will set out on this journey on Monday, February 15.
The journey will take Adam through 16 states, over 3,000 miles and take 45 days. Adam shared his message with the Cathedral students that all things are possible when we work hard and have faith in God. Each classroom at the Cathedral of St. Raymond School has been assigned one of the 16 states that Adam will run through. While the school will track his progress and pray for his safe journey, classes who have the state that he is in will offer special intentions.
At the assembly, the students presented Adam with a special prayer book – showing each state and the children who will hold you in prayer.
In addition, last week the students at the Cathedral of St. Raymond School were out of uniforms and dressed in their best running clothes. They did this to raise awareness of Adam’s journey and to raise money to support Adam’s crew as they make the journey across America. The money that the students raised will be used to pay for a transportation vehicle, videographer and other items that the team will rely on to make this happen (e.g. tracking device, recovery system, etc.). The students were thrilled to support Adam with a $735 check to support his journey.
The Cathedral of St. Raymond School has been providing quality Catholic education to Will County’s youth since 1917. It educates students from age 3 through 8th grade in a nurturing and academically-challenging environment.
