The Prairie Singers announce their upcoming Christmas season entitled, “Follow the Light.” This year marks the Singers’ 27th year of providing choral music to the local area. The concert is themed from music selections that reflect Christmas light and feature many varied styles.
The Prairie Singers present a new musical entitled, “Were You There On That Christmas Night?” along with well-known carols to balance the concert.
The series opens at the Prairie Creek Library, Dwight, in the upper meeting room on December 2 at 6:30 p.m. This concert is open to the public with no charge.
The Singers continue to Assumption Catholic Church, Coal City, Saturday, December 6, at 7 p.m. The Singers follow Sunday at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Seneca, on December 7 at 2 p.m. Both concerts are open to the public with a free-will offering.
The following weekend the Singers return to the Ottawa Reddick Mansion ballroom for dinner-concerts. Concerts will take place on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13, at 7 p.m. The Sunday, December 14, performance is at 1 p.m. Tickets are required and one may call the Mansion for reservations, 815-433-6100. The cost of the dinner concert is $29. Limited seating is available.
