Book on Breastfeeding for Catholic Mothers Released

Mothering through breastfeeding is part of God’s beautiful design for mother and baby.  The book, “Getting Started with Breastfeeding: For Catholic Mothers,” will help mothers get started with breastfeeding, introduce them to ecological breastfeeding, inspire and encourage them in their mothering journey, and help them grow in their Catholic faith.  Chapters include: (1) Breastfeeding Basics, (2) Common Breastfeeding Concerns, (3) Ecological Breastfeeding, (4) Catholic Motherhood, (5) Mothers’ Stories, and (6) About the Catholic Nursing Mothers League.

The author, Gina Peterson, is a Catholic home educating mother of five ecologically breastfed children, wife of 18 years, volunteer lactation consultant, and perpetually professed member of the Holy Family institute (www.vocations-holyfamily.com). She is also the executive director of the Catholic Nursing Mothers League (www.catholicbreastfeeding.org). Gina is currently a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos, NM.

Gina was born and raised in Lockport and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lockport for 18 years.  She attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in Lockport and Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox.
