St. Raphael Catholic Parish in Naperville is currently accepting applications for funds to be used for organizations in ministry. The Special Appeal is an annual collection held during the Advent season and traditionally given to deserving ministries outside the parish.
Funding is made available for not-for-profit groups, such as, church ministries, social agencies, peace and justice organizations. The one-time grant is intended to be used as seed money for a new program rather than for maintenance of existing programs. In the past, Special Appeal collections have averaged $15,000-$21,000.
A committee of parishioners of St. Raphael Church will select the Special Appeal recipient. To qualify, the ministry applying must fit the criteria established by the committee.
Applications must be postmarked by Friday, September 5, 2014.
