The Diocese of Joliet welcomed the public to the Blanchette Catholic Center in Crest Hill on April 3 as it blessed its new building. At a Mass earlier in the day, Cardinal Francis George was one of the invited guests who saw Bishop R. Daniel Conlon bless the altar at the new chapel in the building.
Several hundred people visited the center, mingling with diocesan staff. The ribbon-cutting ceremony included Crest Hill Mayor Ray Soliman and Bishop Conlon.
